Today, in Oft-Injured Centers Attempting To Resurrect Their Careers news, the Miami Heat announced that Greg Oden will remain the starting center for the remainder of the regular season — with the caveat that he likely still won’t play in back-to-backs. Still, for everyone hoping Oden could make it through one season without falling apart, the fact he’s now starting for a defending champion in March should be music to their ears.
In other news, the Andrew Bynum experiment in Indiana is going about as expected (minus the scrimmage antics). Bynum sat out Monday night’s game against Philadelphia due to swelling in his knee (although, we feel he just wanted to pay homage to his time in Philadelphia), and had his knee drained after undergoing an MRI. Bynum made his Pacers debut only last week, and had been averaging 11 points and 9.5 rebounds in only 18 minutes.
