It was announced on Wednesday that Shawn Marion would miss the Dallas Mavericks’ upcoming road trip after injuring his shoulder during Tuesday’s win over the Lakers.
During the second quarter, Marion fell to the floor and landed on his shoulder after getting his feet tangled up with Pau Gasol and teammate Dirk Nowitzki while playing defense.
As the Mavs took the court in San Antonio without Marion on Wednesday night, the Dallas telecast displayed a graphic featuring a great quote from Nowitzki earlier in the day:
“I actually tripped him, unfortunately. I was playing defense, I shouldn’t have played defense.”
With that logic, the New York Knicks should be the healthiest team in the league.
