Hearts all across Chicago and the NBA world skipped a beat Friday night as Derrick Rose limped towards the sidelines during the first half a Halloween showdown between the Bulls and Cavaliers. Replays showed that Rose landed on Kyrie Irving’s ankle, and Rose had to essentially sit out the ensuing Cavs possession to shake things off. As Rose limped towards the sideline, some very despondent Bulls fans could be heard on the ESPN broadcast screaming “Noooo, nooooo, noooo!”
The good news is Rose only needed a few seconds to recover, and has played pretty well so far. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Bulls were down nine, but Rose had 20 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.
UPDATE: Rose went back to the locker room in the fourth quarter with a sprained ankle and hasn’t come back to the bench.
