Hall of Famer Chris Mullin, whose career spanned 16 seasons (mostly with the Golden State Warriors), has turned in his ESPN analyst role for an adviser position in the new front office of the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are currently holding training camp on the University of California Santa Barbara campus (much better than Sacramento), and the team — and Mullin — put on a show for some lucky student spectators.
New Kings majority owner Vivek Ranadive offered free tickets to an upcoming Kings game to any UCSB student who could beat Jimmer Fredette in a three-point contest. Fredette started out with a solid 10/15, followed by center DeMarcus Cousins, who went 9/15. Rookie Ben McLemore also got in on the action, going 7/15, before Old Man Mullin stepped to the plate. The Brooklyn native promptly laid waste to all competitors by casually sinking 14/15 three pointers.
