Being an umpire is a difficult job. You’re expected to make the right call every single time, keep things in order, and make games run smoothly. Imagine trying to do all that with a giant bug in your ear.
Check out this video of an umpire getting a bug pulled out of his ear during a live game. Perhaps, the grossest part of the caught-on-camera moment is the fact the insect is still alive.
Props to this umpire for handling the gross moment like a champ. Honestly, I’d be freaking out and would not handle the intrusion well.
Getting a giant, living bug stuck in your ear is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I’m glad the team doctor got it all out. Hopefully, none of its offspring remain in the umpire’s ear.
