The concept of ‘warning tracks’ in baseball is fairly simple : “Hey outfielders, here is some dirt to let you know you’re getting close to that big hard fence that surrounds the field.”
Chicago White Sox center fielder Adam Eaton is apparently not so great at heeding that warning, however, as he proceeded to sprint into the outfield fence while tracking a home run during Wednesday afternoon’s ChiSox-Rangers game in Chicago.
Eaton exited the game after the brutal collision and the team will likely release an update on his status shortly. We hope he’s alright.
