Social media can lead to some crazy things, this we know. We got another example of this last night when a young MLB All-Star Game spectator rushed the field to make good on a bet that he proposed on his Twitter account.
During the game last night, Yankees fan Dylan Masone sent out the following tweet to his followers:
1000 RT’s and ill run across the field.. #ASG #CitiField
— dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 16, 2013
That’s where it all started. It seems like Dylan wasn’t expecting the bet to go anywhere and really wasn’t too keen on rushing the field.
@TravisQuattrini i hope i dont get to 1k lmao

lmao this is gonna be terrible
— dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013

— dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 17, 2013
blame it on social media, love you all

Then, there were the people who tried to convince him not to do it, including his mother.
@DaReal_JoeSmith not at all
— dyl (@MasoneDylan) July 16, 2013
That didn’t stop him.
if i actually get on the field pray for me cause my moms gonna kill me

Thankfully, someone captured Dylan making good on his bet.
He didn’t seem too upset about the whole ordeal either. Look at that sh*t-eating grin.
No further update from Masone on Twitter, so we can only assume that he found himself in some big trouble following the game.
