A minor league baseball team wasted no time in arranging a whole night dedicated to trolling the Patriots over Deflate-Gate.

In a case that shows that one can never be too quick to take advantage of a situation, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans will hold a #DeflateCancer night on Wednesday, April 15th when the team faces the Salem Red Sox.

And yes, the choice of the hashtag #DeflateCancer was not an accident:

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, are pleased to announce #DeflateCancer Night, one of the six nights in the team’s Strike Out Cancer Series, on Wednesday, April 15 against the Salem Red Sox. In light of the NFL and New England Patriots “Deflate-gate” scandal, #DeflateCancer Night will focus on raising awareness for testicular cancer and feature an inflatable baseball giveaway to the first 1200 fans through the gates. Eleven of every 12 fans will receive a deflated ball, while one in every 12 will receive a “properly” inflated ball.

But wait! There’s more.

Fans who come to to the game with a Massachusetts licence plate will be able to request a complimentary tire pressure check. Free tire pressure gauges will also be passed out to fans. The Pelicans will also offer to inflate any deflated balls that fans bring to the stadium and they’ll hand out balloons which will be used in a “communal deflation ceremony.”

The Pelicans will also pass out balloons to fans during the game to engage in a communal deflation ceremony while playing the “Deflate-gate” press conference of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on the left field video board.

The Pelicans will also serve food in the shape of balls, ranging from meatballs to roasted nuts. The team will also hold a Rocky Mountain oyster eating contest between the team’s vice president, general manager and one fan.

As for the musical selections, you bet that they’re all ball-themed:

Music for the night is sure to feature famous ball-related tunes like “Great Balls of Fire,” “Cannonball,” “Wrecking Ball,” and “Balls to the Wall.”

Hilariously, the Pelicans’ statement on #DeflateCancer Night specifically states that the Patriots equipment manager will not be allowed anywhere near the Pelicans Kid Zone which features an obstacle course and an inflatable bounce house. The team wants to ensure that each piece of equipment is “inflated to the specified safety levels outlined in their respective manuals.”

Pelicans general manager Andy Milovich stated that everything is being done in good fun and that #DeflateCancer is for a great cause.

“In honor of the New England sports tradition, the choice of a night in which the Boston Red Sox affiliate was in town was the obvious choice for this night,” explained Milovich. “To be able to promote awareness of such a serious disease so early in the season, while having some fun in the process is what we are all about.”

Fundraising in the ballpark during the #DeflateCancer night will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

So, we can all at least point to one good thing to come out of Deflate-gate.
