The Seattle Mariners’ Hisashi Iwakuma was absolutely on fire from the mound on Wednesday, and it resulted in a no-hitter. Prior to Iwakuma tossing the no-no, the National League had been the proud owners of the last twelve no-hitters. The last pitcher from the American League to toss a no-hitter was another Mariners player, Felix Hernandez. The Mariners, not surprisingly, ended up winning the game by a score of 3-0. Hisashi Iwakuma is the fourth MLB player to throw a no-hitter this season, along with Cole Hamels, Max Scherzer & Chris Heston.
Hisashi Iwakuma final line was a beautiful nine innings pitched, no hits allowed, zero runs allowed, three walks, and seven strikeouts.
