The Seattle Mariners played the Chicago White Sox today in what was arguably the most boring game in baseball history. That is, until the 14th inning, when both teams realized they’d started their game roughly six-and-a-half hours before the normal start time in Seattle (12:40 pm, compared to 7:10 pm), and finally began scoring runs. The White Sox put up a five-spot in the top half of the 14th inning, and the Mariners responded with a five-spot of their own in the bottom half, thanks to a Kyle Seager grand slam. One Mariners fan in the right field stands really, really wanted the ball, and proceeded to knock some poor kid over in his attempt to snag it.
The White Sox won in 16 innings, 7-5.
