A young fan at the Giants game on Tuesday was granted the honor of giving the “Play Ball” announcement before the start of the match between the Giants and Diamondbacks. An adorably shy Vicente Gallardo became too bashful to say the phrase and it was at that moment that Lou the Seal, the Giants lovable mascot, decided to come over to give Vicente a re-assuring pat on the back after Vicente’s dad said “play ball” for him.

The attempt backfired.
