Status: Re-signed by the Chicago White Sox to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million
Although he has played for two other teams, the thought of Konerko in another uniform besides the White Sox is just bizarre. The heart and soul of Chicago’s lineup for so long, the ChiSox captain may be on his way out of the Windy City following the team’s signing of Cuban defector Jose Abreu. It wasn’t long ago, that Paulie was finishing top five in American League MVP balloting and he should still be able to provide some pop wherever he goes.
