In the bottom of the first inning of Thursday’s Milwaukee Brewers-Cincinnati Reds game, Joey Votto came up to bat and nearly hit his fifth home run of the year. Votto’s bomb was launched right to dead center field, however, where the Brewers’ Carlos Gomez was able to track the ball down and make a leaping catch right at the wall. Votto could only swear under his breath and say “that’s two times!!”
A side-by-side pic courtesy of @MLB shows Gomez’s catch last night and another one from last season where he robbed Votto of a go-ahead home run:
Someone should tell Joey Votto never to hit it near @C_Gomez27. This is twice now: http://t.co/TyTzqZPqOW pic.twitter.com/LQ3aX87GIv
