Remember what happened at Fenway Park just a couple of days ago when Brett Lawrie’s broken bat sailed into the stands and hit a woman in the head? Well, something along those same lines could have happened at MGM Park in Biloxi, Mississippi when Shuckers pitcher Tyler Wagner hit a line drive into the right field stands.
But instead of someone getting hit in the head with a broken bat and having to be carried off in a stretcher, a fan was there to catch the sailing ball barehanded. He did this all while wearing a GoPro on a head mount.
That catch was amazing to see from his perspective. The baseball looked like a comet about to make impact with his head before his hand got in the way.
It had to hurt a lot to catch the baseball barehanded, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s a lot less trouble than getting nailed in the head by a baseball.
