Jefferson High School and Rockford East High School (both of Rockford, Ill.) squared off Tuesday night in a hotly contested Class 4A regional semifinal. The game came down to the wire, with Jefferson’s Chaz Johnson sinking a buzzer beater to clinch a 51-49 victory. As the teams lined up to shake hands, they promptly squared off again, this time for an all-out fist fight that carried on for quite awhile before cooler heads finally prevailed.
One other item of note: East’s head coach is named Roy Sackmaster. Sackmaster.
