Troy Glendenning has had a rough few years living in Boone County (Ind.). The Indianapolis Colts facilities manager is the proud owner of a treasure trove of Colts memorabilia, making him a prime target for smash-and-grab thieves. Last week, Glendenning returned home to a familiar sight: someone had broken into his home and robbed it…for the third time in as many years. This time was different though, as the thieves made off with not only electronics and signed Peyton Manning schwag, but also his 9-month-old boxer, Vegas.
“Now it’s really personal. It’s always personal because you feel violated when someone comes into your home, but now … they’ve taken a loved one…”
“…This time they took TVs, computers, some other stuff and memorabilia (Manning) re-sent to me after the first burglary … probably $3,000 or $4,000 worth of stuff,” Glendenning said. “But most importantly they took Vegas, and he’s priceless.”
No arrests were ever made in the previous robberies, both of which occurred just days apart in April 2013, and police have nothing more than a vehicle description for this latest incident. Of course, the last time a bunch of thieves messed with a man’s puppy, he didn’t need no stinkin’ police to exact revenge. We know how this movie ends.
