Tiger Woods is well past his prime when he was arguably the best golfer of all time. However, Woods is undoubtedly still one of the biggest draws in the sport.
With no way to know how much longer fans will be able to see Woods compete at a high level, people are incredibly grateful when they get the chance to see Woods compete. Unfortunately, one of those chances won’t be at his upcoming event.
Woods announced on social media that he wouldn’t be competing in his annual Hero World Challenge Tournament.
“I am disappointed that I will not be able to compete this year at the Hero World Challenge,” Woods revealed in a tweet on Monday.
I am disappointed that I will not be able to compete this year at the Hero World Challenge, but always look forward to being tournament host and spending the week with @HeroMotoCorp. Excited to welcome our exemptions @JustinThomas34, @JDayGolf and @NickDunlap62 into the field.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Feels like the end. Thanks for everything Tiger. 2019 was all we ever needed,” one fan said on Twitter.
“Looking forward to the day we see you again,” one fan added.
“It’s been a while since tiger was able to compete,” someone else acknowledged.
“Take care Tiger and get better soon. So happy I got to watch you play last year at Hero. Golf is always better, when you’re playing,” one fan added.
Hopefully, this isn’t the end of the road for Woods and he’s able to pull one more rabbit out of the hat on his way to winning a major.
