Much of the attention surrounding former President Donald Trump and the indictment against him over 37 felony counts related to mishandling classified documents, obstructing justice, and false statements has been focused on Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

However, according to a new report, Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, N.J. has played a role in the investigation as well. Now, details are emerging about how the Department of Justice might look to get more information from there.

According to the New York Times, Bedminster, where Trump usually spends his summers, has been the focus of investigators and central to one of the key parts of the indictment. It was the scene of a meeting in which Trump showed off a “highly confidential” plan to attack Iran while admitting it was not declassified. Audio of that meeting was published Monday by CNN and The New York Times.

“This totally wins my case, you know,” Trump is heard saying, noting that the documents in his hand were “highly confidential” and “secret.”

Per the Times, DOJ investigators subpoenaed surveillance footage from the club and battled with Trump’s lawyers on how to search the property. Investigators even reportedly discussed executing a search warrant at the golf club over concerns that more classified documents were being kept there.

Trump has since insisted that he had no classified documents with him at the Bedminster meeting and that he was simply offering “bravado.”
