For those of you gamers interested in EA Sports’ new UFC release this year, there’s an unlockable fighter that may intrigue you – the iconic Bruce Lee. EA unveiled the iconic martial arts expert and action movie star as a playable character in the upcoming EA Sports’ UFC video game this weekend.
According to Bloody Elbow, users will be able to unlock Lee and fight with him in any of four weight divisions from 125 pounds to 155 pounds either by pre-ordering the game before its release or completing “career mode” at pro difficulty or higher.
It’s been more than 40 years since Lee’s untimely death at the age of 32, but EA hopes that including Lee in their release will help make sure his legacy continues on. EA said they wouldn’t be opposed to Lee’s character becoming a permanent fixture in future UFC video games.
It’s a pretty cool tribute and additional feature offered by the game, which hits stores on June 17th.
