February has been an interesting month for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. A few weeks back, Bobcats fans watched in horror as the promising rookie lay crumpled on the floor, out cold after an unfortunate knee to the head from teammate Jeff Taylor. Gilchrist showed no signs of movement from the moment he hit the floor, and was eventually carried out on a stretcher. In addition to the scary on-court injury was a saucy off-court story that sneaked its way into the headlines during All-Star Weekend: Gilchrist had reportedly lost a game of one-on-one to Bobcats owner Michael Jordan.
Whatever. We’re not here to talk about the past. We live in The Now, and what happened “Now” was this total destruction of Greg Monroe on Wednesday night. Get up, young fella.
