Let’s not kid ourselves, a big chunk of the enjoyment of the Super Bowl comes from the commercials. While only two teams will make the game itself you’ll be treated to an array of advertisers trying to be the most talked about spot.
Here’s an early list of who’s shelling out the $3.5 million plus per spot to keep you entertained between plays:
- Anheuser-Busch (Apparently to push Bud Light Platinum. Tastes like real platinum!)
- Audi
- Best Buy
- Cars.com
- Century 21
- Coca-Cola
- General Motors
- GoDaddy.com
- Hyundai
- Doritos (with one from Lonely Island and one created by fans)
- Pepsi
- Toyota
- Volkswagen
Based solely on history I’m calling Budweiser the likely winner for funniest ad. They could close it out right now if they just go ahead and run this one:
