Netflix has been pretty good on producing quality content for some time, with shows like Daredevil, Orange is The New Black, and House of Cards becoming big hits that suck people into binging for hours straight. It comes as no surprise, then, that the new trailer for Stranger Things, Netflix’s upcoming mystery series, looks good enough to pull you back in kicking and screaming.
From the trailer above, the show looks to have a similar to feel old shows such as The X-Files and The Twilight Zone, combined with the atmosphere of JJ Abram’s Super 8. It reveals a bit about the plot, as Winona Ryder is looking for her lost son with the least concerned cop ever, as unexplainable events and creepy phenomena occur around his disappearance. Oh, and it’s all set in a quiet, midwestern town, because the supernatural has an affinity for corn fields and Puppy Chow (delicious).
The adventures of Winona and bored cop are set to begin July 15th.
