Here I am on January 27th, 2014 just working away out of my home office. I was on a conference call (Google Hangout) with my business partner who is up in Palo Alto. I’m on the hangout wearing some big headphones and I thought I had heard a knock at the door but wasn’t sure. I waited a bit and finally decided to check out the front windows and sure enough a huge UPS truck was in the middle of the street. I got up and sprinted to the door as I thought they were delivering the 50 K-Cups of Donut Shop coffee which I ordered last week. However, by the time I made it to the front door the UPS guy had gotten back into his truck and he was off down the street. Whatever, he will be back I thought…
Within 15 minutes I got an e-mail from a wine company which I vaguely remember signing up for, but never actually putting my credit card down or going through with it. The e-mail can be seen right below in its entirety.

Imagine my surprise, and how excited I was that someone gifted me a bottle (s) of wine. My next 24 hours were going to be filled with great visions of what the gift could possibly be, like a kid heading to Disneyland the next day.
It was exactly 16 minutes later when I received a second e-mail which was one of the meanest things that a wine company could do to someone. You can also read that e-mail in its entirety below.

You have to be kidding me?!?! I literally was stunned and wondered if it was some sort of brilliant marketing ploy, or they genuinely made a mistake. So to the ‘Tasting Room Team,’ I would like to say that you are a very cruel bunch and I would like to know the truth behind this soul-shattering incident.
Thanks,
Kiley
