The folks over at the Toronto Sun should be ashamed of themselves for the cover they’ve chosen to use today for their story on Robin Williams’ suicide. The newspaper’s headline reads ‘SAD CLOWN’ in big letters underneath a less than flattering picture of the legendary comedian, who reportedly took his own life Monday after a long battle with alcohol, drugs and depression.
It’s not exactly new for the Sun to use controversial tactics to to generate buzz about their paper, but that doesn’t make it any less pathetic and disgusting for a journalistic publication. I guess human decency takes a back seat to selling some papers nowadays.
