Harlem is on fire.
The combination of Netflix and Marvel has been pretty unstoppable so far. With Daredevil and AKA Jessica Jones already leading the way, it seems rather fitting that the next hero to have their own series seems so symbolic of the brand’s irrepressible success on the streaming service. Witness the impenetrable force that is Luke Cage.
The official trailer has everything you need to be completely hype for the badass formerly known as Power Man; guns, girls, and a whole lot bad guys thrown through buildings. It has a dark tone, just as pervious Marvel/Netflix shows have, but with bit more heart and soul thanks to the music. Also, there’s a perfect shot of villain Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes that just warms your evil heart.
Wonderful.
It’s always great to see Marvel digging further into its huge cast of characters, especially with someone as iconic as Mr. Cage and his adventures. Here’s hoping this is also a great setup for the epic collaboration that will be The Defenders, featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage himself, and the man known as Iron Fist.
