Masterchef

Summer has slowly but surely made FOX Gordon Ramsay’s personal broadcast station. Through a mixture of Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef and Hotel Hell (and previously Kitchen Nightmares), Ramsay has become one of the most omnipresent chefs working the reality television circuit. Masterchef is definitely the most enjoyable of all his endeavors. By working with two other judges, Ramsay is allowed to come across as more human than his other shows as he doesn’t have to spend an entire hour berating chefs for being incompetent donkeys. The trio of Gordon, Graham and Joe is a good balance of unrelenting encouragement and comically dramatic criticism. It helps that the contestants, for the most part, don’t devolve into hateful creatures over the course of the show. The TV pickings may be slim over the summer but Masterchef is a welcomed way to pass the time until fall shows roll around again.
