Friday Night Lights coach Eric Taylor has been sorely missed on television screens for a while now but the Alamo Drafthouse movie theater chain has helped resurrect Kyle Chandler’s iconic character for the big screen.
Sort of.
Chandler filmed a PSA for the theater company asking movie-goers to silence and put away their phones before watching a movie as Coach Taylor. It’s pretty much perfect, from the soundtrack, to the establishing shots, to Chandler’s always magnificent delivery and drawl.
“Clear eyes, full hearts… Turn your god damn cell phones off!”
Now that is a message that we can get behind. After all these years, Coach Taylor has still got it.
