Remember Aaron Carter? The obnoxious, frosted-tipped younger bro of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter was somewhat of a thing around the turn of the century, releasing two platinum albums (the Disney/Nickelodeon crowd is an absurdly powerful fan base) in consecutive years. One of those albums, Oh Aaron, featured the single “That’s How I Beat Shaq”. You might not remember it because the track peaked at #96 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, the younger Carter had enough star power to get an in-his-Lakers-prime Shaquille O’Neal to star in the campy video.
With a title like “That’s How I Beat Shaq”, you can imagine how that one-on-one matchup went. Recently, Shaq managed to take time away from ruining Inside The NBA (Did you know Shaq won four NBA championships? It’s a good thing he reminds us every week — otherwise we’d forget.) to take on Carter in a highly-anticipated rematch to prove who’s really the best. This is the lighter side of the Big Fella that we’ve always known and loved — a side unfortunately overshadowed by the insecure troll he’s become on TNT.
In other news: Happy 41st B-Day, Big Fella!
