Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony may be Hollywood’s biggest night, but the night before is when all the cool kids hang out, at the Independent Spirit Awards. The Indies honor achievements in film that live up to the spirit of independent film, with a strict budget ceiling of $20 million. At one point during Saturday’s ceremony, Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon presented the award for Best First Screenplay. When McConaughey announce Bob Nelson (Nebraska) as the winner, the cameras cut to a crowd shot for reaction — which included an applauding Witherspoon sitting at her table. Then, POOF!, she’s back on stage.
Yep, Reese Witherspoon is basically a sorceress.
