The Washington Wizards and New York Knicks are scheduled to play the opening game of ESPN/ABC’s Christmas Day NBA triple-header. The Knicks always play on Christmas, so that’s why they’re on the schedule. The Wizards are on the schedule because they are actually good. Because the Knicks are godawful, that’s also probably why ESPN chose John Wall to star in this promo with Knicks fan Liam Neeson, who reprised his role of Bryan Mills from the Taken trilogy. In case you’ve been living under a rock, this is a little cross promotion for both, as Taken 3 opens in theaters January 9th.
Although, we’re not sure how Neeson made it through this thing with a straight face, as we can’t think of many particular sets of skills this current Knicks team possesses. Also, they don’t exactly shoot with “unthinkable accuracy”, and, they may very well know how to defend themselves — just not any other team. So, um, yeah…good luck.
