Concussion, the Will Smith movie about Dr. Bennet Omalu’s discovery of chronic traumatic encephalophathy (CTE) in NFL players, has predictably been a bit controversial, even with more than a month to go before the film’s release date.
Still, the first trailer made the Smith vehicle look like a pretty slick thriller and the second trailer, released on Thursday, looks just as tense.
Time will tell if the movie delves deeply into the NFL’s culpability in the CTE issue as much as critics would like (leaked Sony emails seemed to say that the studio didn’t want to ruffle the NFL’s feathers with the film). For now, these trailers will have to do.
