It has been 23 years since Gordon Bombay introduced the “Flying V” to the world but the legendary move has remained an iconic piece in hockey history. It has been replicated, parodied and honored over the last two-plus decades and it never gets old, especially when used, or even attempted, in a real game.
During Boston College’s 7-0 demolition of UMass on Tuesday, the Eagles managed to pull it off, albeit in lesser volume. Their Flying V only included three men and Jesse Hall was not leading the charge but it was still fantastic.
