TMZ is reporting that David Letterman, the longest-running late-night talk show host in America, will not renew his contract with CBS when it runs out in 2015. Letterman made the announcement during the taping of Thursday’s Late Night show. Letterman began his night time talk show career in 1982 on NBC with Late Night with David Letterman, following The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Letterman famously left NBC for CBS after NBC tapped Jay Leno to take over for the retiring Carson. Letterman’s CBS show began in 1993.
