Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, is making quite the name for himself in the hip hop world. He’s appeared at multiple music festivals, headlined sold out shows, and released one of the year’s biggest albums, Because The Internet.
Gambino returns with “Sober,” the first track off his upcoming mixtape, STN MTN / KAUAI. Even though the track is labeled as “rough” it sounds pretty damn good, featuring upbeat keys and synths full of spacey reverb. Even though the track itself is upbeat and fun, Gambino is singing about the joys he feels when he’s not sober.
The STN MTN / KAUAI mixtape is expected in the next few weeks on DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz label.
I just hope Donald comes back for the next season of “Community,” we need more scenes like this:
