We all remember CBS reporter Serene Branson who had a solid 20-second rant on air following the Grammys, which was absolutely incoherent gibberish. Many suspected she had a stroke on the air, but it was revealed that a migraine was the actual cause.
Well, we now have a second case of on-air gibberish. It is Global Toronto reporter Mark McAllister, who last night suffered an on-air medical issue that left him with “badly garbled speech.” While people watched, very confused, McAllister attempted to riff on a news story on Libya, but he spent 20 seconds or so making no sense. The video is below; McAllister comes in at 11 seconds.
“Thanks to all for More..inquiring about last night,” McAllister wrote on his Twitter account Tuesday morning. “Feeling better now after some disorientation live on the air. Following up with doctors today.”
Global News released its own statement early Tuesday:
“While on the air during the 6 p.m. News Hour broadcast on Monday, March 21, Global Toronto reporter Mark McAllister suffered a minor medical issue causing him to experience a moment of disorientation. Paramedics were immediately called to the scene, where Mark was fully checked out and is feeling better. As a precaution, Mark will be pursuing this matter with his own doctor.
