Former Ohio State Buckeyes head coaches Urban Meyer and Jim Tressel have been around some great teams as both led Ohio State to national championships in their coaching careers with the Buckeyes. But both agree that this current team under head coach Ryan Day is the most talented they have ever seen.
During a recent interview, the two coaches agreed on the absurd talent level of this Ohio State Buckeyes roster.
“As of now, this is one of the most talented rosters in the last decade, maybe ever,” Meyer said in a video shared by Adam King of 10TV in Columbus, Ohio. “I mean, that’s a big statement. They’ve got to play,” Meyer said. “But if you look at the quality of athlete at every position, I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Tressel expressed a similar sentiment.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that many great players in that building all at once – every position, every place you turn,” Tressel said. “So, Ryan [Day] has done a great job, Ohio State has done a great job.”
The Buckeyes returned nearly all of their draft-eligible players from last season and added a few key players from the transfer portal and through high school recruiting with the goal of winning a national championship and beating the rival Michigan Wolverines.
We’ll have to see whether or not the Buckeyes can get it done.
