It sounds like the Auburn Tigers will be making some pretty massive upgrades to Jordan-Hare Stadium ahead of the 2025 college football season.
The team’s current videoboard was originally installed way back in 1987, but the Board of Trustees has given initial approval for a brand new video board in the north end zone.
“We are appreciative of the Auburn Board of Trustees for its continued support of Auburn Athletics and the Auburn Family,” Auburn Director of Athletics John Cohen said in a statement according to On3. “This videoboard project will not only take a big step in our efforts to provide a better aesthetic balance between Jordan-Hare Stadium’s north and south end zones and an improved sound experience, but more importantly will continue to modernize the fan experience for our fan base.
“It will also give our south end zone patrons, including our student section, an opportunity to have an unimpeded and straight-ahead view of a state-of-the-art videoboard.”
The new videoboard is expected to be 47 feet high by 154 feet wide, totaling 7,238 square feet of LED space. This makes the new videoboard the sixth largest in the SEC and one of the 20 biggest videoboards in all of college football once it’s complete.
