Caitlin Clark has not even officially entered the WNBA yet after she just finished her college career a few days ago, but it sounds like she is already bringing a lot of new attention to her future team.
The Indiana Fever are widely assumed to be selecting Caitlin Clark in the upcoming WNBA Draft. As a result, the team has already seen a pretty significant surge in ticket demand, as Stephen Holder of ESPN explains.
“The presale tickets have been selling briskly. By Thursday afternoon, only a handful of seats outside the balcony level remained from the batch of tickets made available earlier in the day for games against the Seattle Storm and Dallas Wings. Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where the Fever and Indiana Pacers play home games, has a capacity of more than 18,000,” Holder wrote for ESPN.
“Meanwhile, ticket marketplace Vivid Seats reports the team’s regular-season opener — a May 14 road game against the Connecticut Sun — has seen a price increase of 91% since Clark declared for the draft. The Fever’s home opener, on May 16 against the New York Liberty, has seen a 50% price increase since Clark declared, Vivid Seats reported.”
It’s pretty insane that Clark is already on pace to sell out WNBA arenas before she’s even officially been selected in the WNBA Draft, and it led to a lot of conversation about it on social media.
Last season, L.A. Sparks tickets cost $16 for a family of four. This season, tickets for their games against the Indiana Fever, which is expected to draft Caitlin Clark, are already selling for $112 to $140 on StubHub.https://t.co/HdFeQRjHYy

It’s pretty clear that Clark is going to have a big impact on the WNBA the same way she did in college basketball.
