The Michigan Wolverines can celebrate a bit this week. On Tuesday, the Wolverines learned that Class of 2026 quarterback Brady Hart elected to commit to the team.

Hart made the news official with a post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Shortly after that post, the excitement took off.

Hart is a junior HS quarterback out of Melbourne, Florida. According to Hayes Fawcett, Michigan landed his commitment over the likes of Clemson and arch-rival Ohio State. So earning his commitment is a big win for the Wolverines program. After losing J.J. McCarthy to the NFL, the Wolverines clearly are making the QB position a priority for the future.

Alex Orji is likely to start for Michigan in 2024. The Wolverines went an impressive 15-0 last year en route to their National Championship victory in the College Football Playoff final over Washington. Orji will have big shoes to fill, but the Wolverine defense still looks really good this year.

That aside, this move helps to secure Michigan’s future. It’s true that 2026 commitments can mean little in 2024, but for now, Michigan fans had a reason to celebrate and be happy. That they very much were, as after Hart announced his commitment, plenty of Michigan fans or otherwise were ready to party.
