According to StubHub, tickets for Monday Night’s BCS Title game between Oregon and Auburn are now the most expensive tickets in the site’s history. From StubHub spokesman Greg Lehrman:
Right now this game is tracking as the top-selling event in the history of StubHub, up 40 percent from last year’s BCS championship matchup. The average ticket price is currently at $1,107 per ticket.
The demand is probably so high because these two teams haven’t seen this type of football success in recent years, and both have rabid fan bases. Great news for brokers, bad news for anyone who is looking to get tickets.
