According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, Derek Jeter will be making his return to the Yankees lineup Thursday night from the DL. There is no word yet if Jeter will be playing a defensive position, or if the Yanks will ease him into playing with a DH role. Jeter will be returning to the field for the first time since undergoing on his fractured left ankle ALCS last October which caused him to miss this season, until now. He suffered another setback in April of this year when doctors found a small crack near the original break.
The Yankees are 49-42 and sit just six games out of the lead in the AL East, despite not having their captain. Jeter on the field will be a welcome sight.
