There are few things in this world more awesome than a spontaneous hockey fight, especially when it includes the goalies. This one comes from the Swiss National League in a game between Genève-Servette and Lugano. Logan Couture and Yannick Weber are two current NHLers playing for Genève-Servette, while Patrice Bergeron and Luca Sbisa play for the opposing Lugano HC. It’s worth noting that the head coach of Geneve-Servette is Marty McSorley’s younger brother, Chris. Perhaps he’s been teaching his players how to fight. I’d imagine he’d have learned a thing or two growing up defending himself against the iron fists of Marty.
Apparently the game had a rowdy ending. Genève came back to win with two late and controversial goals in Lugano’s building. According to Logan Couture’s twitter, it sounded like a pretty awesome night–fans were pissed and throwing just about everything they could find in their pockets.
Seems like the more time these guys spend overseas, the more they are enjoying themselves. Time to bring them back to North America before they get too comfortable.
