Monday the landscape of the NFL underwent a major shakeup when the Dallas Cowboys and head coach Mike McCarty decided to mutually part ways after failing to come to terms on a contract extension.
Now, the Cowboys will be looking to start the process of finding the person who they feel is capable of leading the franchise back to the Super Bowl. However, according to one NFL insider, the league is mandating that the Cowboys take one major step first.
“Jerry Jones and other members of the Cowboys decision-making group must take mandatory inclusive hiring training before beginning their head-coach search,” reported CBS’s Jonathan Jones on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Obviously since you’re reporting this is worth noting. Is this unique to them?” one fan who wanted to know more about the situation wrote on Twitter.
“Same with Bob Kraft and the New England Patriots. They made a mockery of the Rooney rule and should be criticized and not lauded for hiring Mike Vrabel so quickly,” one fan added.
“How bout best qualified person for the job, irregardless of skin tone, sexual preference or any other ‘category,'” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the inclusivity training results in the Cowboys hiring someone from a marginalized community.
