The NFL is first and foremost a business, and as such, when people struggle to excel in their jobs, it often results in their termination. That goes for everyone from players to coaches to general managers.
Still, often, people are given time to prove whether they have what it takes to succeed before an organization decides to call it quits. Unfortunately for one head coach, according to reports from one prominent NFL-centric Twitter account, that doesn’t appear to be the case in Las Vegas.
“Antonio Pierce’s future with the (Raiders) is in serious doubt, per (Tom Pelissero),” reported JPA Football over the weekend.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“The Raiders showing their true colors again. Loyalty means nothing in this league. Pierce brought energy and respect to that locker room, but I guess mediocrity is their comfort zone. Pathetic,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Not like they’ve been setting the league on fire under him,” another fan added.
“Shouldn’t have won that game last week,” one fan added, referencing the Raiders recent win that hurt their draft position.
“It’s hard to get going when you’re in a division w/ 3 elite head coaches and you aren’t one of them. just ask matt eberflus,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see who the Raiders hire if they do move on from Pierce.
