The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are doing their best to weather the storm after a tough stretch in the early part of the season.
Sunday’s 30-7 thrashing of the New York Giants ended a four-game losing streak and kept the Bucs within arm’s reach of winning the NFC South. Unfortunately, the Bucs will likely have to finish the deal without one of their biggest difference-makers.
“Bucs S Jordan Whitehead is feared to have torn his pec, an injury that would end his season, sources say. He’s getting an MRI to confirm the diagnosis. Last week, Tampa claimed S Mike Edwards, who won a Super Bowl ring with them. Now, he’ll provide key help in the secondary,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Monday.

Fans reacted to the brutal break on social media.
“That’s a shame. Depending on the tear can be anything between 4 weeks or 6 months. I know the initial prognosis is end of season but let’s hope a quicker recovery,” one fan said on Twitter.
“Heartbreaking news for the Bucs with Whitehead’s injury. Get well soon, champ,” one fan added.
“Literally have had all 5 starters together for just one game this season. Just an incredible run of bad luck,” one fan added of Tampa Bay’s secondary.
Hopefully, the Bucs can weather the storm as they try to chase down the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.
