The Kansas City Chiefs are reeling after their first loss of the season. With the Pittsburgh Steelers hard on their heels and the teams set to face each other on Christmas Day, there’s a chance the Chiefs could lose the coveted 1-seed in the AFC and the first-round bye that comes with it.
One player in particular is taking things especially hard. Tight end Travis Kelce completely forgot about all of the young NFL and Taylor Swift fans who look up to him on a recent episode of his “New Heights”, where he discussed his and the team’s performance.
“We want to win this game because we have a lot of really close football games against the Buffalo Bills and we love [expletive] competing against them because they’re one of the best teams in the league. I get fired up playing against the best teams in the NFL and I was fired up for this one — and I didn’t play my best.
“That [expletive], it [expletive] pisses me off and it made me go right back into work on Monday after the game and get after it, find a way to make [expletive] right.”
It’s understandable Kelce would be upset after his performance, where he only caught two passes for eight yards, but he still has to do a better job of reigning in his emotions with so many young fans looking up to him.
Fans reacted to Kelce’s take on the game online.
“The Bills energy was unmatched. Intense and high contact. This is the first team the Chiefs played that had this kind of energy,” one fan commented on YouTube.
“As a Bills fan I think the teams just found a line and the Bills just got all pressure into it at the right time. It’s that Josh Allen effect. This is why the Bills have lost in the playoffs so often with the Chiefs because the pressure wasn’t there before,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Kelce and the Chiefs respond on the field, going on rants online won’t bring Kanas City its third straight Super Bowl.
