Internet star Jake Paul and legendary boxer Mike Tyson will face each other on Friday in a boxing match for the ages. Literally. It will be Paul, 27, against the 58-year-old at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. The fight will be shown on Netflix.
The odds favor Paul, who has youth on his side, but it sounds like those with that bet don’t have a lot of confidence in that bet — especially the professionals. It’s Mike Tyson after all.
“All the small tickets are on Tyson. The public is all on Iron Mike, but the bigger plays are on Paul,” Caesars lead combat sports oddsmaker Brandon Yaeger told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “As far as educated bettors out there, I know they favor Jake Paul. But I’m not sure they have a lot of confidence in it.”

Despite the 30-year age gap, the Paul favor isn’t an overwhelming one in certain aspects. There are talks that since it is Tyson, the ref, and Paul, might limit the damage to him. There are health factors there and Tyson hasn’t had a professional match in 19 years.
On the other side, people who have seen Tyson train recently don’t think he looks like he’s going to blow out 59 candles on his next birthday cake. Tyson has the advantage of being able use that right hook and it’s game over for his opponent.
After his final fight in 2005 after TKO’ing Kevin McBride, Tyson retired saying his heart wasn’t in it anymore.
Despite the social media acumen, Paul gained the respect of those involved in the boxing world after beginning his career with six consecutive victories now stands with a 10-1 record and seven KOs. He’s also faced former UFC fighters and MMA fighter Nate Diaz.
