The Green Bay Packers have had special teams problems that are threatening to derail their season.

Before the season started, the Packers made a change in the critical position, electing to go with Brayden Narveson. The move did not pan out well on Sunday.

Narveson missed both of his field goal attempts against the Minnesota Vikings, a game that the Packers would go on to lose 31-29 at home. They weren’t Narveson’s first misses either. The struggling kicker also missed field goals in the team’s first two game s of season.

For better or worse, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur still trusts his team’s kicker.

“I got a lot of confidence in Brayden,” LaFleur told reporters, per Pro Football Talk. “I do. I think that, you know, it’s tough. We all want the results.

“I think he’s a young guy and a lot of times with young kickers that you go through this. Certainly, I think that he’s, I know that he’s disappointed. I’ve still got a lot of belief in him. I’ve seen it in practice. I told you guys from Day One, the day he got here, and just have seen his ability. So, it’s just part of it.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t his day, but I got a lot of confidence and wouldn’t blink if we have to put him in another situation.”

Narveson still has his coach’s support, but it’ll be interesting to see if that changes if he continues to struggle.
