The Las Vegas Raiders had a disappointing performance during Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Carolina Panthers, and it sounds like nobody is more disappointed than head coach Antonio Pierce.
During his postgame press conference, Antonio Pierce made it very clear that he was not happy with the effort he saw from his team on Sunday.
Pierce directly called out some of his players for making “business decisions,” and vowed that the organization would make “business decisions” in return.
“I think there were definitely some individuals who made business decisions, and we’ll make business decisions going forward as well,” Pierce said according to Pro Football Talk.
Needless to say, these comments sparked a lot of reactions on social media.
“Antonio, this is a card that you can only play once,” one fan said.
“Seriously, can you blame Davante? The Raiders are wasting his prime with less than journeyman quality quarterbacks,” another fan said.
“He’s a bad coach,” another fan added.
“Very interesting quote. There are players making so much money it’s a no brainer that they consider how far they go and risk injury. Yet management pays them to go all out and not hold back their efforts. For us paying fans we want max effort,” another fan said.
“Cold hard facts. If you’re not going to play as a team, sit on the bench. This is the type of coach that wins football games. Hope Pierce sticks around when they eventually replace Minshew. Looks like he has good set of values to bring to a team. Respect,” another fan added.
We’ll have to see how the remainder of the season goes for Pierce and the Raiders.
