The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon, and head coach Antonio Pierce was not happy with his players after the loss.
During his postgame press conference, Antonio Pierce made it clear that he was beyond frustrated with the effort he saw from some of his players.
Pierce accused players of making “business decisions” during the game – implying they weren’t giving full effort.
He indicated that the team would also make “business decisions” on some of those players.
“I think there were definitely some individuals who made business decisions, and we’ll make business decisions going forward as well,” Pierce said after the game according to Pro Football Talk.
Pierce was asked if there was anything positive to take away from the blowout loss, and he certainly did not hold back his true thoughts.
“Nothing,” he said.
“Give credit to them,” Pierce said. “They put their best foot forward. We didn’t.”
We’ll have to see whether or not the Raiders can bounce back next week when they play host to the Cleveland Browns.
Clearly, Pierce will be looking for more effort from some of his players. It will be interesting to see if he gets what he’s looking for.
